This kingfisher rightfully deserves its name. It is truly the king of fishermen. He can spot the fish from the color tones on the water surface. What follows is a targeted dive into the river after which the fish only has a fraction of a second to shoot away. Small chance that it will succeed.

Just as fast as the dive down is the flight back to the nest somewhere in the bush near the water. What we as humans see is actually just a quick blue flash haha. 

The youngsters are fed and and educated by both parents who can work well together. Beautiful inspiration from these blue heroes...

'A Flash Of Blue'- schilderij 13x18 cm

Ons ijsvogeltje heet in het engels Kingfisher en dat is niet voor niets. Het is ook echt met recht de koning van de vissers. Hij kan aan de kleurtinten op het water zien waar de vis zit. Wat volgt is een doelgerichte duik in de rivier of sloot waarna de vis slechts een fractie van een seconde de tijd heeft om weg te schieten. Klein kansje dat dit lukt. 
Net zo snel als de duik naar beneden is de vlucht terug naar het nestje ergens in de bossage vlak bij het water. Wij zien met het blote oog eigenlijk alleen een snelle blauwe flits haha.

De jonkies worden heel geëmancipeerd (op)gevoed door beiden ouders die een perfect team zijn. Mooie inspiratie van deze blauwe helden. Doelgericht samenwerken met je hogere zelf aan je levensdroom...
