But I was sure that something important escaped me. Finally we drove slowly enough and I could throw a good look at it, as if it had been posing at its best especially for me. The red cardinal. Wow I didn't know birds could be that red! Magical

Op mijn reis door Afrika zag ik vanuit mijn ooghoeken iets fel gekleurds voorbij schieten, steeds opnieuw. Wel net te kort om goed te zien wat ik nou mistte. Want dat me iets belangrijks ontging dat wist ik zeker. Eindelijk reden we langzaam genoeg en daar zag ik m dan goed, alsof ie speciaal voor mij op zijn mooist was gaan zitten. De rode kardinaal. Wow ik wist niet dat vogels zo rood konden zijn! Magisch!
