Here in the Netherlands we don't have that many brightly colored birds in my opinion, but the great tit with its jet black head and bright yellow belly always strikes me. I live in the city without a garden and without a balcony, so birds at my window make me incredibly happy.
For a long time I had an ivy growing near my window where free bird food was available all year round, berries, insects, seeds, so there was always a lot of entertainment at my lookout. Later, a not so capable gardener pruned the ivy so rigorously that it never came back.
So now I hang up food for the birds myself. Frankly, that's even more popular than the climbing plant, so now I am able to enjoy those little quick whistlers even more.

Grappig dat de engelse naam een groot dier doet vermoeden:-)
Hier in Nederland hebben we niet zo heel veel felgekleurde vogels voor mijn gevoel, maar de koolmees met zijn gitzwarte koppie en knalgele buikje valt mij altijd wel op.
Ik woon in de stad zonder tuin en zonder balkon dus ik wordt ongelofelijk blij van vogels voor mijn raam. Lang had ik een klimop plant groeien aan de muur tot rondom mijn raam waar het hele jaar door gratis vogelvoer te vinden was. Besjes, insecten, zaadjes dus altijd veel vertier voor mijn raam.
Later heeft een niet zo capabele tuinman de klimop zo rigoureus gesnoeid dat het nooit meer goedgekomen is. Dus nu hang ik zelf voer op voor de vogels. Eerlijk gezegd is dat nog populairder dan de klimop en daarom geniet ik nu nog meer van die kleine snelle fluitertjes.
